Ray Booker - Philchem Employee of the Quarter Q1 - 2021
Ray is one of PhilChem's Production Supervisors and a member of the company’s ISO Management team. During this past quarter, Ray went above and beyond to make sure that customer orders were completed and delivered on time with the quality and safety that we expect. Lynn Johnson - 2020 PhilChem Employee of the Year
Lynn is Philchem's Maintenance Supervisor. He is also a member of the company’s ISO Management Team. Lynn handles our monthly safety inspections as well as our daily air quality reports. During 2020, Lynn was personally responsible for several plant upgrade/improvement projects which were brought in on time and under budget. These projects helped increase the plant’s production capacity and allowed for improved turn-around time for our customers. Lynn has also been assisting in production, as-well-as shipping/receiving, when key employees were unavailable. His continued contributions to the success of our facility have earned him the distinction of being named our Employee of the Year. Congratulations Lynn!
Sean Lownsbery - Philchem Employee of the Quarter Q4 - 2020
Sean is PhilChem's Quality Control Manager and a member of the company’s ISO Management team. During this past quarter, Sean helped out in the Production area to get customer orders filled in a timely fashion. He also worked on weekends assisting production, All of this while still continuing to run PhilChem’s Quality Control Department. Sean’s willingness to accept these additional responsibilities this past quarter has helped earn him this award. Congratulations Sean!
Lynn Johnson - Philchem Employee of the Quarter Q3 - 2020
Lynn is PhilChem's Maintenance Department Supervisor and a member of the company’s ISO Management team. During this past quarter, Lynn helped out in the Production area to get customer orders filled in a timely fashion. He also helped minimize downtime between product changeovers by moving and setting up equipment. All of this while still continuing to run the Maintenance Department. Mount Vernon Chemicals, LLC announces multiple Product Capacity Increases
Responding to growing production demand, Mount Vernon Chemicals, LLC has recently completed capacity upgrades at two of its US facilities.
Apollo Chemical Division of Mount Vernon Chemicals, LLC has recently completed an expansion of their Burlington, NC facility, adding production equipment that will increase capacity approximately 20%. “Our customers demand a growing, reliable supply of high performance processing materials that enable them to innovate confidently,” said Mike Zavaglia, Vice President & General Manager of Apollo. “Investing in our production facilities and supply chain capabilities allows us to stay at the forefront of the markets we serve and meet our customer’s long-term ambitions as they grow their business.”
The PhilChem Division of Mount Vernon Chemicals, LLC also has increased their dry-blending/repackaging capacity with a new stainless steel blending line at their Greer, SC location. “Customer Focus is a key business premise for us and this capital investment will offer us the flexibility that we need to adapt to our Customer’s needs,” said Dr. Jayson Vassallo, Vice President & General Manager of PhilChem. “The addition of this new stainless steel ribbon blender will increase our capacity and make it easier for us to meet our customer’s production and delivery requirements.”

Michael Vassallo - Philchem Employee of the Quarter Q1 2017

Michael Vassallo - Philchem Employee of the Quarter Q2 2016
Michael works in Philchem's R&D/TS area as a lab chemist. Michael is also responsible for the site's SDS program. When situations arise, Michael is also our local IT support person that assists our Corporate IT Department. During the last quarter, Michael assisted our Corporate IT department when a bad virus attacked our computer servers. Michael volunteered to spearhead the site effort and spent many extra hours assisting our Corporate IT department in fighting off this virus. Michael's dependability, his great work ethic, positive attitude, and his ability and willingness to work with and assist fellow corporate employees when needed have helped earn him this award.
